Altar Servers

Altar servers assist the priest in celebrating Mass and other devotions. Boys and girls who are 5th grade and up can become altar servers. High school students are also encouraged to be part of this ministry. For more information on becoming an altar server, please contact Msgr. Deutsch via our contact form.

Altar Care

The altar care committee is responsible for taking care of the altar cloths, altar linens, vessels (chalices and patens), and the sacristy. Volunteers take care of the Crane Rd. Church on Fridays and on Saturdays at the Downtown Church. Please contact Diana Lynn here if you would like to assist this ministry at Crane Road or Mary Ann Holota here if you would like to assist downtown.

Art and Environment

These volunteers help with the decorating of the churches for liturgical seasons. Please contact Sharon Ellermann here to assist at the Downtown Church or contact Karen Bourbon here to assist at the Crane Road Church.

Baptism Ministry

We have many parishioners who assist at baptism liturgies as we welcome children in the Church through the sacrament of new life. Volunteers usually serve once every other month. Training will be provided. Please contact Jason Theobald here for more information on Parent baptism prep at the parish.

If you would like to help our priests and sacristans prepare before before baptism, contact Lois Mielke here for more information and to volunteer.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

These ministers distribute Holy Communion at weekend and weekday Masses. Minister’s usually serve once or twice a month. Each Mass has a captain who coordinates the ministry. Training will be provided. For more information on serving at the Crane Rd. church please contact Kevin True here. To help serve at the Downtown Church, contact Steven Jolly here.

Lectors

The lectors are a group of dedicated volunteers who proclaim the scripture readings at our weekend and weekday Masses. Training is provided so that volunteers are equipped to proclaim the Word of God in an effective manner. For more information on becoming a lector, please contact Mary Beth Wright here

Music Ministry

There are many opportunities to serve in choirs and as cantors. We also have a children’s choir. Go to our music ministry page or contact Katie here or at 630-338-8000 for more information.

Sacristans

These ministers arrive early for Mass and help set up for the Eucharistic celebration. They make sure all the liturgical ministers are present, set up the altar, prepare the gifts of bread and wine, and attend to any special needs for a given celebration. To volunteer at Crane Road, contact Bob Richardson here. To volunteer at the Downtown Church, contact Donna Fike here

Wedding Coordinators

Wedding coordinators lead wedding rehearsals the day before the ceremony and are present the day of the wedding to provide coordination and attend to the details surrounding the wedding ceremony. For more information on becoming involved in this please, contact Holly here.
